White Noise (2005): all these movies are just a rip off of every other recent scary movie. i think the number one thing that makes a scary movie good these days is originality. the basic premise for most of these is: if you do x (go inside a house, watch a video, go see a crazy guy about how you can reach the dead, attempt to reach the dead, see crappy movies), then x will make it inevitable that you will die and there is nothing you can do about it. its already been done so people need to stop. plus, this movie left me with a ton of questions. wasn't really clear on who the bad guys were. the three stooges maybe? finally, the movie was slower than the english patient. don't see.
i've gotta pee so bad that i can barely type. may be forced to hold myself and type with one hand. can't leave my little hole though because during the day at work can sometimes get busy. i realized a few days ago that my name has only two vowels, a and e. and each of these vowels in used only once in my first, middle, and last name. weird huh? i'm excited cuz i'm going to hollywood video today to hopefully get a movie pass for the month.
new years was kinda depressing as always. i've grown to hate this holiday more than any other. its always the saddest because you reflect on all the crap during the year prior, realize that it seems like only yesterday it was 2001, and realize all the crap you have to look forward to the next 12 months. kim, kar, and ryan and i all hung out in kar's basement and just played games and snacked on some tasty food ala ryan. at first wasn't too excited about doing all that. would have much rather been partying it up downtown. of course it turned out fun as i knew it would, but it just sucks watching all the hoopla going on around the world and knowing i can't be a part of that. plus i had to watch ashlee simpson try to sing again. she looked pretty hot though, i'll give her that.
right when we got to denver i found out our old friends would be playing in their band at hard rock. super stoked to see that. so ryan and laci and i headed up to denver, got there nice and early for our old buddies sloan, joe, and mr. chris depew. their band is called singlefile and not too bad i might add. i have a few complaints, but regardless, its amazing to hear them live, know they have two e.p.'s, a website, merchandise, and are on a little u.s. tour. it actually kind of makes me sick because i'm so jealous. so happy to see it all happening for sloan and chris. joe on the other hand i could care less about. just more food to feed his fat head. anyways, everyone needs to check them out at www.singlefilerock.com. i'm sure none of you will enjoy their style, but its one of my few half ass claims to fame. and by the way, not sure why but laci was a bitch that night. just had to get that off my chest.
oh and we played a lot of trivia at old chicago. had never done that before and found it rather enjoyable. i would recommend it with a side of garlic cheese bread next time you and your mates find yourself without anything to do for the night. cheerio all.
